Biography:
Mother Paula J. Thompson, Supervisor of Texas Northeast First Department of Women, is no novice in the work of the ministry of Jesus Christ. For many years, God has positioned her in both secular and ecclesiastical roles and assignments to bring her to leadership in such a time as this.
Her leadership style may be summed up as Visionary and Transformational. With a strong emphasis on prayer, Mother Thompson is used by our Almighty God to bring the message of hope to a world filled with apathy, complacency, and sin. Her experience with the Holy Ghost began at age 7 and from that early age, Mother Thompson received her foundational training in holiness from her grandfather Pastor Ralph O. Bradshaw, grandmother District Missionary Birdia Bradshaw, and parents Deacon Wilburn and Assistant District Missionary Bobbie Bradshaw. She is number 7 out of 10 children and often says the diverse personalities of her 9 siblings helped prepare her for the work of the church.
Her work with Superintendent Andrew Jackson, Jr., at the West Irving Church is exemplary of her vision:
Vacation Bible School Director • Marriage Ministry Coordinator • Sunday School Teacher • Prayer Warrior, Intercessor, and Altar Worker • Sunshine Band President • Bible Study Teacher • Evangelist Missionary • Hospitality President for Dallas Mid-Cities District.
She humbly serves with her husband Pastor W. McArthur Thompson at the Center of Joy Church of God in Christ as:
First Lady • Director of the Women’s Department • Sunshine Band President • Sunday School Teacher • Prayer and Bible Band Teacher • Prayer Warrior, Intercessor, and Altar Worker • Evangelist Missionary
She received her Evangelist Missionary License in 2007 and has come up through the ranks to her ascension as leader of the Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction Department of Women.
Texas Northeast Department of Women Executive Board Member • Lydia’s Daughters Commission Chair • Jurisdictional Sunshine Band President •District Missionary for Texas Northeast Tarrant District
On June 9, 2022, at the Saintsville Church State Headquarters Bishop James E. Hornsby appointed District Missionary Paula J. Thompson as Supervisor of Texas Northeast First Department of Women.
Her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Kansas Newman University) and Master of Science in Engineering Management (University of Texas at Arlington) prepared for her increasingly demanding roles in government and industry. She began teaching middle school Mathematics at Grand Prairie Independent School District. From there, she landed a position managing enterprise-wide projects as an Information Technology Program Manager.
The Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, tapped her for her technical and executive skills. Some of the positions she held are Cost Estimator, National Air Traffic Controllers Association Union Representative, and Aviation Technical Systems Specialist. During her tenure at the FAA, she oversaw Air Traffic Control Terminal projects and grew her budget from $3 million to $65 million.
As a licensed Realtor® she specializes in assisting seniors and veterans. She is also the CEO of BTE Series, LLC, a real estate investing company, and Thompson Suits. Mother Thompson is not only involved in transforming individuals spiritually but in practical ways. She founded Thompson Suits, an apparel company, initially because so many women gave all they had to their families and rarely purchased new clothing for themselves. The Lord laid it on her heart to help women in need to further build healthy perceptions of themselves. She saw that a small investment in a new dress or suit made women feel better about themselves and gave them an air of confidence.
Mother Thompson and Pastor W. McArthur Thompson have been married 40 years and are the proud parents of 5 children: Mose (Chanell), Timothy (Julie), DaShawn, Shania (Malcolm), and Elijah. They have 3 granddaughters (Madison, Lilah and Dianna) and 2 grandsons (Christian and Timothy II). Mother Thompson lives in Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”
